About Electric Monk

A small agency with senior-level judgment, built on more than two decades of hands-on work across data science, software development, and software design.

The firm

Electric Monk is a small agency built on more than two decades of hands-on experience across data science, software development, and software design. We partner with companies, from early-stage startups to Fortune 500s, on full-stack development, strategic product design, technical leadership, and the tactical project work that ships. Our experience spans many industries: medical, energy, education, property management, financial services, and more. Whether you need a team set up for success, a specific technical problem solved, or a product vision sharpened, we bring senior-level judgment without the overhead of a large firm.

Alongside our consulting work, Electric Monk builds and operates small, focused software tools: niche solutions that solve real problems for the people who need them.

Who we are

Electric Monk is two people. We stay small on purpose, so the people you talk to are the people doing the work.

Josh Hall

Josh Hall

Design, product & engineering

Josh works at depth across design, product, and engineering. He writes production code. He contributes in architecture review. He builds design systems. He owns product strategy. That's 20+ years in enterprise SaaS and 10+ years putting AI to work, with four exits and three companies co-founded along the way.

His best work needs several disciplines at once. He drove a $300M valuation lift at Reva. He built a CRM platform that added $12M in NOI on a single property. He cut operational costs 95% at Legacy Logix by replacing manual review with multi-LLM validation. The generative UI work he leads today rests on one conviction: interfaces should adapt to people, not the other way around.

Matt Dickinson

Matt Dickinson

Data science

Matt leads data science. His roots are in energy. He came up through the ethanol and biofuels industry, crossing from the business side into technology at Green Plains and now CTE Global. He turns messy data into decisions that move the operation.

His edge is non-linear thinking. His background spans Bayesian statistics, operations research, and reliability modeling. He sifts through hard data problems and pulls the pieces into results people can act on.
